XPlate™ (Xenogenic Plate) is the result of over 10 years of intense research into the patented molecular Xenogenic-fuel technology.  It is a device which is easily installed at locations such as power plants, steel plants or any site which uses industrial boilers. Installation requires no down time whatsoever, since XPlate is installed on the outside of existing pipe work.

Improved combustion efficiency and reduced emissions are achieved through installing XPlate™ due to its ability to store a natural charge which is then released as fuel or air passes through the treated pipe.  This technology has been proved to be effective by many government and private organisations in Europe and further afield.

The effects of XPlate are on a molecular and microscopic particle scale, as illustrated below:

When coal, gas, or air flows through pipes, the molecules naturally move, interact, or hit each other and the side wall of the pipe. The interactions that occur between the atoms of a molecule with the other atoms of the other molecules cause forces of attraction to occur; these forces are known as intermolecular forces. These intermolecular forces cause the molecules to electrostatically adhere together and form molecular clusters. When these clusters enter the combustion chamber, they burn incompletely and the molecules at the centre of the clusters are wasted.

XPlate reduces the attractive forces which cause molecular clusters to occur. This is achieved by the ability of the XPlate to store naturally occurring positive and negative charges, and then transfer these positive and negative charges to passing coal fuel, gas, or air clusters. A vivid illustration of this effect can be seen in the video below:

The effect seen by installing XPlate is to break down clusters of coal fuel, gas, or air molecules; therefore all single coal fuel, gas, and oxygen molecules become neutral and separated from each other and they can then be burnt with each other more completely in the combustion chamber. In the application of industrial furnaces or boilers where a flame can be seen, the effect of increasing combustion efficiency by XPlate can be observed by the naked eye through the change in flame colour and brightness.

Coal-Fired Combustion

XPlate has many different applications, including improving combustion efficiency of coal at cement production plants. No downtime is required, which means that the installation can be completed easily without any interruption in the plant's vital processes.

At a coal-fired power plant, XPlate enhances the combustion efficiency of coal, resulting in more power MW output being achieved. Consequently, coal consumption is reduced by at least 5%. Benefits also cover the reduction of the CO2 emissions as a result of increased fuel efficiency.

Gas-Fired Combustion

Several installations of XPlate have taken place on gas-fired combustion equipment, including industrial boilers, steel furnaces, and heating-required chemical reactors. Results consistently show a higher combustion efficiency, which results in a significant reduction of gas consumption and lower CO2 emissions.

XPlate Installation

The XPlate system can be used with a number of different fuels such as coal, gas and rice husk. It is effective at reducing electrostatic forces at both high and low pressures and is designed to withstand high temperatures exceeding 130°C.

One of the key advantages towards adopting the XPlate system is that installation requires absolutely no downtime as it is fitted to the outside surface on top of existing pipe work.

During an initial survey, a number of factors are recorded and taken into consideration in order to manufacture bespoke sections of XPlate.  Such variables include:

  • Fuel type and quality
  • Number of key areas where there is likely to be an electrostatic build up of charges
  • Fuel temperature and pressure
  • Size and complexity of application

XPlate Trials

Fuel savings of coal or gas are expected.  An important part of the trial period is the ability to analyse the results obtained through a vigorous evaluation of XPlate.  Due to the nature of the technology, it is possible in many cases, where detailed data is collected in real time, to see an almost instant effect.  This effect can further be seen through observation of the change in flame length and colour

We guarantee XPlate for 3 years after the day of installation; during these 3 years, XPlate does not need any maintenance by TK Fuels or our partners, but we issue maintenance guidelines for clients.
